Presentations and Workshops
With a background in creative writing, intersectional feminism, queer theory, and social justice education, along with more recent experience as an educator, Katie Hébert has much experience preparing educational and community-based presentations. She has spoken about a variety of topics and has presented at conferences around the country, including NACURH and the North-East Affiliate (NEACURH), the campus communities of her alma mater of SUNY Oneonta and her current educational institution of Manhattanville University, and through her places of employment.

Co-presented with Sophia Monsalve about the double-edged sword of shared identities and how to make communities more inclusive.

SUNY Pride Conference (October 2018)
Presented a dialogue workshop for the SUNY Pride conference inspired by a discussion from WMST 365: Queer Migrations on the term “Queer” and how LGBTQ+ communities identify themselves.

Co-presented an creative activity presentation on the art of Slam Poetry, performing with the 2018 SUNY Oneonta Poetry Slam Team.

NACURH Annual Conference at Purdue University (May 2017)
Educating around the political, personal, and cultural importance of learning foreign languages, curated alongside Cristina Santos-Carvalho. Received Top 50 Program Award.

Women’s and Gender Studies Student Symposium (April 2017)
Presented original work around the idea of feminist affinity, inspired by Sara Ahmed's piece, An Affinity of Hammers, in which I dove into understanding what feminism and social justice looks like to the individual activist. Advised and mentored by Dr. Melinda Brennan.
