With an extensive background in administrative and customer service roles, Katie brings a creative lens to those foundational roles and understands the importance of being able to support companies internally and externally on a logistical and foundational level.

EDITORIAL EXPERIENCE

Reading and reviewing poetry submissions for publication in Issue 41 of Inkwell, evaluating which poems align best with the issue's overarching work and with the journal’s vision.
Communicating with selected writers with any editorial changes, including clarity, style, and ensuring the author’s vision of formatting that also aligns with the journal’s requirements.
Assisting with layout of the issue with proofreading and copyediting the journal as a whole.
Supporting the administrative side of the submission process, including connecting with desired writers for solicited submissions.

Remained well-informed of local, national, and global news to prepare for the campus community on a weekly basis.
Proofread, copyedited, and reviewed all articles and submissions for The State Times, supporting layout for publication.
Reestablished the poetry column of The State Times while increasing student contributions to the paper and providing editorial services.

Utilized a trauma-informed lens while navigating content creation and development on various topics such as body image and eating disorders.
