    • Curated programming for SUNY Purchase’s wellness center on incorporating poetry and creative writing as coping mechanisms and calming activities.

    Finding A Rhythm in Poetry, Ayaskala Literary Magazine: Virtual Writing Retreat (May 2020)

    • Educational workshop about rhythm and meter in poetry in a virtual writing retreat for interested writers in the United States and India.

    • Curated artistic space with artists to share their work in an open-mic format while interviewing each other about their work. Presented alongside Emmanuel Woolard.

    • Designed curriculum on sex and relationships for the advanced level of the campus Safe Space Training Program.

    Queer Sex Ed (November 2018)

    • Educational presentation to the SUNY Oneonta community on understanding sexual education beyond cis heteronormative relationships, presented alongside two GSRC colleagues. 

    Defining Queer (October 2018)

    • Presented a dialogue workshop for the SUNY Pride conference inspired by a discussion from WMST 365: Queer Migrations on the term “Queer” and how LGBTQ+ communities identify themselves. 

    Bye Biphobia! (March 2018)

    • An education program on defining bisexuality and combating discrimination towards the bisexual+ community, presented at the NEACURH 2018 Spring Leadership Conference.

    Foreign Languages Are A Whole Other Level of Awesomeness! (May 2017)

    • An educational program around the political, personal, and cultural importance of learning foreign languages, curated alongside Cristina Santos-Carvalho and presented at the 2017 NACURH Annual Conference at Purdue University. Received Top 50 Program award.

    Katie’s Affinity: A Discovery In Personal Feminisms (April 2017)

    • Presented original work around the idea of feminist affinity, inspired by Sara Ahmed's piece, An Affinity of Hammers, in which I dove into understanding what feminism and social justice looks like to the individual activist. Presented at the Women’s and Gender Studies Student Symposium. Advised and mentored by Dr. Melinda Brennan.

  • Teaching and Tutoring Fellow, Manhattanville University, Purchase, NY          

    • Leading instruction of College Writing I and II for first year undergraduate students, curating my own curriculum and implementing pedagogies, practices, and theories studies from the discipline.

    • Tutoring students in writing across disciplines in all stages of the writing process, providing support in topic development, drafting, composition, and revision. 

    • Supporting Writing Center operations with administrative tasks, including attending meetings and updating records, while also serving as a liaison to professors by consulting with them regarding students in the collegiate writing curriculum.

    • Serving as executive assistant to senior leadership by supporting administrative tasks, managing calendars, preparing materials for events, and scheduling travel as needed.

    • Managing reception such as monitoring all communications, checking in visitors, and collaborating with building on facilities needs.

    • Enhancing office culture by creating internal and external initiatives by curating team-building activities, communicating with outside organizations to provide community service, and organizing company birthdays and holiday celebrations. 

    • Curated a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere while collaborating Facilities and the building ensure office security, along with assisting HR with onboarding of new hires and offboarding of departures.

    • Scheduled events in the office, booked conference rooms for employees and clients in the office, and prepared spaces for upcoming events for offices of about 50-200 people.

    • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills while tending to patrons, preparing orders, and completing additional tasks in an efficient and timely manner.

    • Conducted regular inventory checks while tending to and improving processes behind the counter such as transactions, bookkeeping, deliveries, and routine sanitation, while handling products and items between 25-50 pounds.                                          

    Marketing and Outreach Intern, BALANCE Eating Disorder Treatment Center

    • Utilized a trauma-informed lens while navigating content creation and development on various topics such as body image and eating disorders.

    • Managed databases such as Zencharts and Salesforce to organize and maintain patient information and clinical team information.

    Women’s and Gender Studies Teaching Assistant, SUNY Oneonta

    • Collaborated with the Assistant Chair of the Women’s and Gender Studies Department to provide additional assistance throughout the course involving the research of gender-based violence statistics and prevention methods on higher education campuses.

    • Prepared and facilitated specific educational programming on campus, directly reflecting the student body’s and community’s needs.
